Abstract


DETERMINATION OF TOKAT GAZİOSMANPAŞA UNIVERSITY CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION STUDENTS 'INTERPERSONAL SENSITIVITY LEVELS

The aim of this study is to determine the interpersonal sensitivity levels of the students in the Children Development Program and Social Studies Education at TokatGaziosmanpaşa University. The research was conducted in accordance with the screening model. While the collection of research data, the questionnaire technique was used among quantitative data collection methods. The scale which was used in the study consisted of 36 items and five sub-dimensions. “Interpersonal Awareness”, “Need for Approval”, “Separation Anxiety”, “Timidity” and “Fragile Internal Self” are the sub-dimensions of the questionnaire. The questionnaire used in research was developed by Boyce and Parker (1989) and adapted by Erözkan (2004). The population of the study, which was conducted in 2018 and 2019 academic year fall semester, consists of children development program and social studies education students studying at TokatGaziosmanpaşa University. The sample of the study consists of 271 students attendingChildren's Development Program atReşadiyeVocational School of Higher Education and Social Sciences Vocational High School and Faculty of Education Social Studies Education Department at Gaziosmanpaşa University. The results of the research have showed that interpersonal sensitivity levels of the students were moderate. While the timidity sub-dimension with the highest mean score among the sub-dimensions, the lowest average was observed in the interpersonal awareness sub-dimension.
